A manga adaptation also began in 2011, running until 2014 and having spinoffs of its own. The anime began in January 2012, continuing all the way thorough Season 4 in 2018.
The story began as a series of light novels by Ichiei Ishibumi and Miyama-Zero, amassing over 20 volumes during its approximately decade-long run. This makes Issei the indebted underling of the prettiest girl at school, where he must now fight to survive amid the various factions.
